Make it Happen

Make it Happen is a one day event that is designed to provide you with the mindset and skills necessary to achieve whatever you want, in business or in life in general.

"Make it Happen" – 1 day

Bryan (Paddy) Dunlop – The Irish Gurkha

Having joined the Army as a Rifleman in the Royal Green Jackets, Bryan then gained entrance to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst where he won the opportunity to serve with the elite 2ndGurkha Rifles.

Having left the Army, Bryan then took a team of retired Gurkhas to work on diamond mine in Angola, West Africa. In October 1992; the diamond mine that Bryan was working on was attacked and overrun by the UNITA rebel army. Bryan and his team were held captive for four days during which time Bryan was directly threatened with death.

Released and then flown south to Namibia by the Brazilian Air Force, see the evacuation stamp in Bryan’s passport, Bryan was asked to go back to civil war torn Angola and take his team back with him.

Bryan was the only senior Manager to return to Angola, and he took his team back with him. Bryan stayed in Angola for a further five months before leaving to pursue his business interests in Nepal.

As a result of this experience in Angola Bryan says:

“I learnt then what “ordinary” people are capable of. At the time of the attack, I was 29 years old, a Dubliner who didn’t do heroics. When I was first asked to go back, my initial reaction was definitely not but when I started to think about it, I became convinced that going back was the right thing to do.

My greatest fear was that one of my team would get hurt or even worse be killed but I had faith in our training and faith in the people around me. While I felt very alone initially, I quickly realised that as long as about 8 of my Team came back with me, we’d be able to complete all that we were going to be asked to do.

I know how scared I was at that time but somehow I managed to focus on something other than the fear. I had a degree of confidence in my training but other than being shot at by bandits on three or four occasions, I had never been into a real shooting war, and this was how I expected things would be when we got back in to Angola.

I call my Angolan experience a “reference point” because I refer to it when I am confronted with a challenge”.

This one day event starts with the premise that we all do have a lot of untapped potential and that fear often encourages us to settle for things that we really don’t want, whether that is linked to the jobs we do, the salary we get even where we live.

The aim of this one day event is not just to awaken people to their potential, it is designed to give them some ideas and strategies they can use to get better results and most importantly, enjoy the process.

You will learn:

·        The 12 traits of high achievers

·        Where those traits come from and how to access them for yourself

·        How we’ve learnt what we know and do and how to tap into that learning process again

·        The power that comes from a meaningful goal

·        How to take the right action at the right time

·        Where fears come from and how to banish them forever

·        The power of belief, what beliefs really are, where beliefs come from and how they limit or inspire us

·        How to remove limiting beliefs and how to create inspiring beliefs

·        The power of focus – how our focus helps or hinders and How to use our focus to enable us to achieve our goals

This is an energetic, entertaining and inspiring day. When we run this event "in house" it is always oversubscribed.
